E3 Culture: Geek Chic

Theres a ton to say on the culture of E3, so this post will capture just one little component of it: the wacky
T-shirts that just scream Im a geek, and proud of it.
The Joystiq cultural anthropologist says: The specimen sporting this shirt is not only proud of his
so-called geekiness, but also of his general lack of magnetism when it comes to members of the opposite sex. This
magnetic deficiency manifests itself via a surfeit of flesh and the subjects mere presence at a gathering of
like-minded individuals. His ability to laugh at his own geekiness springs from a quiet confidence that comes
from self-knowledge. It is also interesting to note that the subject declares his heterosexuality via this shirt,
indicating that E3 is a hetero-normal environment.
PS: Said chick magnet consented to be the subject of this blog post.

Guys, That's why we have a "culture" atom. Not everything on this blog is straight up news in the old fashioned sense of CNN or MSNBC. This is a blog and we bring you the stuff you're not going to find elsewhere, including color on the E3 event and on video game culture.Look back through our archives to get a feel for what we've covered in the past.Oh, and welcome to Joystiq! It's nice to see new readers visit us. We hope you stick around.
